I decided that one of my ‘to do’s’ this year, was to join some kind of subscription service. I love trying new products, but with working over fifty hours a week, and using all of my money on bills and driving lessons, I’d find that I didn’t have much spare money left to experiment with new products. A great example of this is that I now own three makeup removers, all of which I don’t like – but because I’ve not been able to go out and experiment more, I’m stuck using the horrid products!
I decided I’d join a beauty subscription box. I get the best of both worlds! Each month, a cute little box containing five items, gets delivered to my door for me to try out for the month! How is this not a great idea? I love it!
I did flick through a few different subscription services, but found Birchbox to be the best quality for money. It also means I can do a monthly blogpost and YT video for you all to see the products being used, and have a general rating!
So, today’s post will be a little look into January’s Birchbox and what’s inside! Later on in the month, I plan on doing a YT video testing all the products, along with a blogpost with a more details description.
The first item is this No.4 Sugar Texturizing Spray. This spray is perfect, whether you want scruffy beach waves, a little bit of texture and volume, or just soft, silky waves. Hair feels soft and the style stays intact even in the face of heat and humidity. Getting perfectly undone, beach babe hair has never been so sweet! Simply spray onto damp hair and style as needed, then leave to air dry.
The next item is the wonderful Thermaliv Soin Nuit Hydractiv’. I have suffered with dry skin and dark circles for a while now, and i’m not sure if its a mix of lack of sleep and excess coffees, or whether it is age – but either way, I need to regain my youth! This wondrous cream is designed to reinvigorate and hydrate your complexion overnight to guarantee a beautifully nourished complexion by morning. Just apply to your freshly washed face, massaging in with your fingertips!
The beautiful Lord & Berry Blusher Crayon – Camelia is the only pencil blush I have ever seen! The benefit of having a pencil as a blush, is that its easily blend-able and build-able – so no nasty blush patches when you add just a little too much. Simply scribble onto the apples of your cheeks and use your fingers to blend outwards. Experiment by layering product for a more intense colour.
A new one to me, the Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner is perfect for any kind of occasion. Whether you’re having a little cry at a movie, or sweating one out at the gym – this eyeliner stays put through everything! Just like any eyeliner, simply apply along the lower lash line!
No one likes to remove their make-up. I, for one, tend to spend as long as I can with my make-up, right up to the point where my eyes are itching and watering and I know I have to removed it! The Afterspa Makeup Remover is an ultra-soft woven cloth that removes ALL types of make-up with just warm water. How amazing does that sound? Ensure you machine wash your cloth before the first use and again after every make-up removal. Wet your face with warm water and then begin to buff over your skin and eyes, repeating as necessary.
